Glossary

The vocabulary of redesign.

A short, working reference for the terms that recur across our methodology, our writing, and our engagements. Definitions kept short on purpose, so the meaning travels intact between conversations.

  1. 01 / 08

    Performance Architecture Framework

True Redesign's core methodology. A structured way to identify where value lives across strategy, talent, capital and operating model, then redesign the architecture so it compounds rather than leaks. Every engagement runs through three phases: Evaluate, Redesign, Change.

  2. 02 / 08

    Talent Redeployment

The deliberate movement of people from roles where value is no longer being created into roles, ventures or business lines where it can be created again. The alternative to layoffs in transformation contexts: same people, redesigned around new value.

    Used most at scale

  3. 03 / 08

    Value Perception

How investors, acquirers, clients and talent read the value of an organization, distinct from the value actually present inside it. Redesign closes the gap between the two so performance translates into market value rather than getting lost in translation.

Critical in funding and exit moments

  4. 04 / 08

    AI Economic Transition

The structural shift now underway as AI rewrites how value is created across industries: which work is automated, which work compounds, where margins move, and how organizations are shaped around the new economics. The backdrop against which our work is set.

    Explored in Perspectives

  5. 05 / 08

    Operating Model

The architecture that connects strategy to execution: how an organization is structured, how decisions are made, where capabilities sit, how processes run, and how capital flows. The layer where most performance is gained or lost.

    Where AI hits hardest

  6. 06 / 08

    Venture Creation

Building new business lines from inside an existing organization, usually led by people who already understand its culture and customers. A pathway for talent redeployment and a way to grow without acquisitions.

    Part of our three-direction ecosystem

  7. 07 / 08

    Applied Learning

The discipline of translating the Performance Architecture Framework into capability inside an organization. Workshops, programs and embedded learning designed to build entrepreneurial and systems thinking rather than transfer slides.

Coming soon as a dedicated track

  8. 08 / 08

    Systems Thinking

The posture behind every engagement: looking at strategy, talent, capital and operating model as one interdependent system rather than four parallel agendas. Where most consulting treats symptoms, systems thinking redesigns the architecture that produces them.

    How we approach every engagement

Words are the smallest unit of redesign.

If a term here describes a problem you are trying to solve in your organization, that is usually a good first conversation.
